Alice Fitzgibbon

Alice Fitzgibbon studied Classical Music in Ireland/Belgium but has been practicing and studying yoga for 10 years. Her teachers include: The Isha Foundation (Coimbatore, India), Surinder SIngh (Rishikesh, India), Hanna and Jack Boken(Canada/Finland) and Dr Ringo Paonam (Goa, India). She offers classes inspired and influenced by all their offerings: Vinyasa Flow, Traditional Hatha, Kriya and Manipurian Physiotherapy. Her classes also share meditation techniques from Traditional Zen Buddhism, Vipassana meditation(SN Goenka), Engaged Buddhism(Thich Nhat Hanh) and Advaita Vedanta(Swami Atmananda, India/Awakened LIfe Project, Portugal). Having overcome depression and anxiety through these practices, she is passionate about crafting well-rounded classes which touch on many different aspects of yoga including pranayama, meditation, one-pointed concentration and a healthy mindset.

Since 2012, she has been travelling/working abroad. During this time she lived in India for 18 months studying and practicing yoga and meditation, 9 of these were spent volunteering at Sadhguru's ashram: the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore. She spent the last 4 years volunteering as a Resident in an ashram in Portugal serving meditation retreats and endeavouring to live the practical teachings of yoga on a daily basis as part of a community of up to 26 people. She now runs the Benfeita Music School in rural Portugal and will start online yoga classes in September 2023.
